I am excited to stay there and was not able to book our upcoming December trip at the 7 month window. I agree the water park, plussed pool area would be key to gain interest. I think you are spot on that they went into this thinking they were going to convert the current and past users that have stayed in the cabins before but did not calculate the level of interest from them accurately. For me I am not as concerned about the transportation because I will likely have a car and as APs we typically drive to the parks now unless at a resort that the transportation (monorail, skyliner or boats) makes more sense. I am also at a stage that probably does not make sense to add on at any resort regardless of how much I like it. Like everyone else I am super excited for Poly although it is not my wife’s favorite themed DVC.

Is the boardwalks rooms still undergoing refurbishments?

Resale points can't be used there too right?

I’m a direct owner at 3 different resorts. I went to talk with my guide on May 12, 2024 to talk about add on. He only offered me OKW. My friend was interested in buying her first contract and he only offered her Riviera resort. No mention of cabins at all

As a Bay Lake owner staying at the Grand Californian how is it possible to hate Disneyland? We're in the bubble walking in and out of both parks, riding tons of rides, eating at excellent restaurants, almost zero humidity with perfect weather, the highest density of characters I've ever seen, almost DCL level cast members at Grand Cal, super easy Genie Plus, not to mention Disneyland's open til' midnight every single night!

Can you explain, what are the points meaning? As for getting a DVC, I'm not in line. Fort Wilderness has been historically too expensive for what little, and I mean LITTLE bit of theme that is there. The Fort Wilderness sign used to have a coon hat on Mickey Mouse in a leather skin outfit with a Blaubuster rifle in his hand, that is gone. There is very little magic in Fort Wilderness. As for the parks, they are dying, and the new changes reflect that the imagineers have no idea what they are doing. The parks are rediculously expensive and the food is poor, small portions for big money.... There simply is no reason to want to go there often, if at all until something changes what is there now.

Any update on when the Boardwalk will be done with renovations? I’m booked for July and really don’t want to be in an outdated room

Where does one make a room request? At best, I've seen a drop down menu while making a DVC reservation online that may offer two options (eg. Near elevator). However, I don't see a text entry to make personalized requests.

As someone who has camped at Fort Wilderness ( not the cabins ) the bus transportation from the parks is so slow or they do not have enough buses running to the Fort. When we stand there and watch bus after bus come for other resorts and we are left standing waiting, after awhile we just rent a car and drive to the parks.

Lack of theming and no grand villas I definitely won’t be buying them.

Poly tower has a massive lack of theming. Does not match rest of resort at all.

Since you arrived at the station so early about two hours early, you could’ve had one person watch the suitcases while the others went to a grocery to buy sandwiches or snacks since there’s a Publix grocery only two blocks away from the Miami station.

Also, besides paying for the gas and the cruise port, you have to pay for the toll road

I'm a resale only owner. I don't see being a direct owner unless they build an addition at Bay Lake or convert the Star Cruiser to a dvc property. If they make the Star Cruiser to dvc I will be first in line.

YES. I think that the new cabins at Fort Wilderness are a BUST. They don't even resemble a cabin, they look more like FEMA low income section 8 buildings that will be OVERPRICED. These cabins will be another failure and flop for Disney. What were the designers thinking when they came up with these buildings that look nothing like a cabin.

Disney should have SEPARATED this new tower from the Polynesian and made it the DVC Reflections Resort instead of putting it at Fort Wilderness.

Best things about the boardwalk is the pool bar and Flying Fish.

Always been curious about the 2 story grand villas at BW! There’s a ton of tours of the 1 story but this one seems to be a unicorn. Just started the stream hope there’s a mini tour

Wrt the monorail issue, I’m thinking that the resort loop should start skipping the TTC during peak times to ensure all resort guests can get on. That would also slightly increase train frequency. Wouldn’t solve 100% but would help.

Looks like you guys had a blast! Staying in a grand villa is on my bucket list. I do agree that the Boardwalk view is a double-edged sword. Every night we heard people returning from JellyRolls and they do maintenance almost all night long. But during the day it is glorious!!

Wish I could have joined in for the livestream. The cupcakes and coffee stand on second level of Poly is for desperate parents like myself with kids who need to be urged along to the next destination! Kids get sugar fix. Parents get caffeine fix. Please feel free to add noodles and potstickers as long as I can still quickly grab an almond milk cappuccino and a seasonal cupcake before the next monorail arrives! Love y'all's show. Oh, and I agree w/ Phill. DL is overrated. Just got back from there this week. By day two I was begging my husband to just take us "home" AKA Disney World. 😂

I would love a small segment of a future episode hearing more about some of these aspirational point splurges (Grand Villas, Tree House, Cascade Cabins, etc.).

I know that it is all about location, location, Location. I know that OKW was just reduced in price by DVC. OKW is further away from the theme parks. It is similar with my situation. The price of houses in a high number of growth areas are going down in price. While my single family house in Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, California keeps going up in price. Due to a very low inventory and location, location, Location.
